Update On Every Marvel Announcement At SDCC

MARVEL PHASE 6 Announcement: New Avengers Movies | Comic Con 2022 Panel (Kevin Feige)

Every year, fans of comic books and pop culture get together at San Diego Comic-Con for a unique event. During the event, Marvel did not disappoint with its all-star talks and exciting news. Here are some of the most important things you need to know about Marvel at Comic-Con 2022: Marvel's Animation panel and Marvel Studios' talk.

What If...? Seasons 2 And Season 3

The first season of What If...?, which looked at different paths in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was praised by critics and made a lot of money. People liked the show because it had a great story, great animation, and great voice acting.
Fans were excited when Marvel Studios told them in July 2022 that a second season was already in the works and would start in 2023. But as of July 2023, despite what Disney said and what was said at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, there was still no official release date.
There could be a reason why seasons 2 and 3 of What If...? haven't come out yet. One option is that the show is still being made and isn't ready to air yet. No matter what the reason is, it's clear that fans will have to be a little patient before they can discover new alternate realities.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year/Sophomore Year

This Disney+ show will look at Peter Parker's early days as Spider-Man. Even though it's part of the MCU, it seems to take place in an alternate world where Norman Osborn is Peter's mentor instead of Tony Stark. The show was announced in 2021, but at the Marvel Animation talk at SDCC 2022, we found out that it wouldn't come out until 2024. We also found out that Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox, would be on the show. Some of the baddies, like Dr. Octavius, Chameleon, Speed Demon, Scorpion, and Butane the Pyromaniac, will also be on the show. Amadeus Cho will be in the show, and the name of the second season is "Sophomore Year."
We haven't heard much about the show since then, but it looks like it's still on track to come out in 2024.

Marvel Zombies

The latest news from San Diego Comic-Con 2023 doesn't have any updates on Marvel Zombies, and the project still doesn't have a definite release date.
After the What If...? episode about Marvel Zombies, a spin-off series for Disney+ in 2021 was revealed. During Comic-Con 2022, more information about a wide range of personalities was shared. This meant that famous heroes like Captain America, the Scarlet Witch, and Captain Marvel were turned into zombies.
Also in the lineup were heroes like Yelena Belova, Kate Bishop, and Shang Chi who were just normal people. The show also suggested that Ikaris from The Eternals might be involved, possibly as a zombie who has changed but still has some of the traits of an Eternal.

Loki Season 2 And Echo

The second seasons of both Loki and Echo were supposed to come out in the summer of 2023. But there have been problems with both. The second season of Loki will start on October 6, 2023, according to the latest news from San Diego Comic-Con 2023. Echo's release date has also been set for November 29, 2023.
Hiddleston will keep playing the main character, and Season 2 will pick up where Season 1 left off. Owen Wilson is also coming back to play Mobius M. Mobius.
Echo is a spin-off of the Hawkeye series, and Alaqua Cox plays the Native American killer Maya Lopez. Echo will be the first Marvel Disney+ show to follow Netflix's binge-watching style by releasing all episodes at once. Other Disney+ shows release new episodes every week.
Fans can enjoy binge-watching the series at their own pace now that all of the episodes are out at once. This strategy could bring in more people to watch Marvel.

X-Men '97

X-Men '97 is a continuation of the popular animated series from, well, the '90s. It has everyone's favorite happy mutants. The long-awaited show finally got a release date of Fall 2023 at SDCC 2022, which is not too far away at this point. A second season was also revealed, and a clip hinted that Magneto would be the new leader of the X-Men. This was based on a key moment in the history of comics. At the panel, the Sentinels, Mr. Sinister, the White Queen, and Sebastian Shaw of the Hellfire Club were among the bad guys who were shown off.

Phase 6 Of The MCU

The above-mentioned shows and the movies Captain America: Brave New World, Blade, and Thunderbolts were all confirmed for the rest of Phase 5 at last year's Comic-Con. Feige also announced Phase 6, or at least part of it. He also stated that Phases 4-6 are called The Multiverse Saga, just like the first three Phases were called The Infinity Saga.
The long-awaited Fantastic Four movie will start Phase 6. Feige said that Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm would have new adventures on November 8, 2024. Since then, all of the Phase 6 plans have changed, and in the case of Fantastic Four, the movie hasn't even been cast yet. Fantastic Four is now set to come out on May 2, 2025.
At the end of Phase 6, two new Avengers movies were also announced at last year's con. Their release dates are May 2, 2025, for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and November 7, 2025, for Avengers: Secret Wars. But those times have also changed since then. The new date for Kang Dynasty is May 1, 2026, and the new date for Secret Wars is May 7, 2027.
Aside from the strike, Kang actor Jonathan Majors has legal problems and has been accused of abuse. Majors denies the charges, but it's clear that Kevin Feige and his team are now taking these things into account as they plan Phases 5 and 6. It's possible that Majors could be played by someone else or that Kang's role could be cut, but that would also change the order of events in the movies.

Even though San Diego Comic-Con 2023 wasn't as flashy as it had been in the past, Marvel still had some exciting news to share. Because Hollywood stars and writers were on strike, the event didn't seem to be as exciting as it could have been.
There's a chance that some of Marvel's future projects could be held up. Still, Marvel Studios made a big impact at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 by showing off their upcoming projects that fans are very excited about.
