Boss was on "So You Think You Can Dance?" for five years and "Dancing with the Stars" for one year. He was also the resident DJ on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show," which he started doing in 2014.
In 2020, he was named one of the show's co-executive producers, and he also hosted the show a few times. This year, when the show ended, DeGeneres paid tribute to Boss.
Over a decade ago, I met someone who changed my life and our show. I'm talking about you, tWitch.- Ellen DeGeneres
She then showed a video package that showed some of his best moments on the show. The host wrote about Boss on the show's Instagram account on Wednesday.
I'm heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children - Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.- Ellen DeGeneres
Boss has been in a number of movies, including "Hairspray," "Stomp the Yard 2," "Magic Mike XXL," and several "Step Up" movies. Many of these movies are about dance.
This year, Boss and Holker played parents in the holiday special "The Hip Hop Nutcracker," which they both starred in together.
The couple posts videos of themselves together on TikTok and Instagram, where they have a lot of fans. They put up a video of them dancing together just two days before he died.
Last month, the two of them went on the "Jennifer Hudson Show" and talked about their three kids, Weslie, 14, Maddox, 6, and Zaia, 3. Weslie is Holker's child from a previous relationship, and Maddox and Zaia are their own children.
Holker said on the show that he and his wife would love to have more kids. Holker told People in an exclusive statement that her husband had died:
Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans. To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won't be a day that goes by that we won't honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.- Allison Holker
