H&M remove Bieber's merchandise after he called it 'trash' in his recent Instagram post. The singer was angry and disappointed because the merchant used his image without his permission. According to the singer, he had not given his permission for the collection, which included T-shirts, sweaters, tote bags, and phone accessories.
The singer wrote on his Instagram Story that the items were being sold without his permission or knowledge. He asked people not to buy them.
On the other hand, the company said that the right steps were taken, but they have now cut the line. On Tuesday, Justin wrote on his Instagram story, where he said:
The H&M Merch they made out of me is trash and I didn't approve it. Don't buy it. I didn't approve any of the merch collection that they put up at H&M. All without my permission and approval. I wouldn't buy it if I were you.- Justin Bieber
The H&M company, which allegedly contains pictures of the singer, defended itself and issued a formal statement to shed light on the situation. A spokesperson for the fashion retailer said:
As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedure. But out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber, we have removed the garments from our stores and online.- H&M company
It's not the first time a celebrity has criticized a brand for using its image without permission. In 2015, Rihanna won Topshop's lawsuit in court. She sued the company's parent company for £3.3 million (around $4 million) because it sold a sleeveless T-shirt with her picture on it.
Moreover, in 2019, Ariana Grande sued Forever 21 because she said the company published at least 30 "unauthorized" photos and videos that made it look like she endorsed the brand.
Justin is taking a break from touring right now after he said he was paralyzed in his face because of Ramsay Hunt syndrome. This disease affects the facial nerve near a person's ears, and some parts of the face become paralyzed as a result.
